About Abigail
I studied ASL for 5 years from a mix of deaf and hearing teachers. I have experience in teaching ASL, interpreting media, interpreting live speakers, and understanding deaf culture and interpreting rules.
I'm a believer in learning a language the way that it is used, so we'll focus on vocabulary and styles that are relevant to you.
I'm currently a university student so I understand how learning while having a busy schedule can be difficult and boring; we'll avoid all of that!

American Sign Language is diverse, but simpler than you think!
We can jump into voices-off learning (which I recommend!) or we can go slow- it's all about your goals.
My lessons are ideal for beginners or self-taught learners who feel stuck with their learning. The alphabet is the basis for everything, but we'll learn about everyday language and even slang!
ASL has grammar rules, but I'll always explain how relevant those are; ASL can be understood in a variety of ways so reaching fluency is faster than you think.
If you're interested in interpreting media, or delving into deaf culture, we can do it all. If I haven't mastered something you're interested in, I definitely know where to get you more info or more involved.
