About Barry
I have been passionately and enthusiastically teaching A Level and GCSE Biology for 40 years at the highest level. Over the past 15 years I have developed particular expertise in preparing students to apply to medical, dental and veterinary schools both in the UK and overseas. Most recently I developed a school medicine support programme with a 90+% success rate at gaining offers.
I love nothing more than supporting young people in fulfilling their aspirations. I am told that I am a very patient, kind, friendly and approachable mentor and I will work extremely hard to support you in chasing your dream!

Sessions will be highly personalised and tailored to wherever you are in the application process.
This can include how to:
- develop your insight into medicine (essential to write a strong personal statement and shine at interview)
- gain appropriate volunteering and clinical work experience
- write a strong UCAS personal statement
- approach entrance tests like UCAT
- choose suitable medical schools to apply to
- prepare for interview, including techniques, hot topics and tips for success
Sessions will generally last 1 hour
Personal Statement reviews are also available at an hourly rate
