About Anja
My name is Anja Benson, and I am in my fourth year studying Middle Child Education, language arts and social studies. My whole life I have dreamt about being a teacher and I am finally almost there! I have experience in tutoring as I have just spent a semester working with a program called Kids on Campus. My job in this program was to work with middle schoolers who either had a harsh home life or just needed some extra school help. This experience was so amazing! It taught me a lot about learning a students needs and adjusting my lessons and methods to adhere to their needs. I like to make lessons fun that way they are easier to understand and they also go into the students long term memory.

-While going through my lessons I take the time and care for each student and their learning needs.
-Typically I like to give my lesson and then I conduct an activity for them to really soak up the information in a fun way.
-For example, if our lesson is about parts of speech, I will give a 20-30 minute lesson on the parts of speech with a slide show and explain each one then I will do an activity where they get to show what they learned and allow it to stick into their memory.
-What sets me apart as a tutor is not only do I have a passion for teaching, I have a passion for watching my students grow. I like to learn their needs, adhere to them and allow them to have a safe space to make mistakes and learn from them.
-My lessons are for 4th-8th grade students needing help in Reading, writing or grammar.
