About Jane
I am an ex Assistant Principal and former Head of English but first and foremost, I am a teacher of English. I have a proven track record of outstanding results at GCSE, iGCSE, AS and A2 English, English Language and English Literature and have been consistently judged as outstanding by external agencies at all Key Stages. I am committed to ensuring that every student succeeds in achieving their potential and would welcome the opportunity to support students as a one to one tutor. In addition to being able to offer an engaging leaning experience, my role as an examiner has provided me with a unique insight into the assessment objectives for key national examinations.

Working as a secondary school teacher for over fifteen years has provided me with a comprehensive understanding of curriculum demands at all key stages. I am particularly experienced in supporting students to achieve a grade 4 and above in GCSE English and English Literature and in providing challenge to students studying for AS and A2 English Literature with the AQA exam board. I am an experienced examiner for the AQA GCSE English Language and EDEXCEL GCSE English Literature. Furthermore, my appointment as an examiner for A2 English Language has provided me with an insight into the demands of this AQA examination.
My experience as an examiner for CIE for the IGCSE English as a Second Language reading paper, Singapore listening paper and O level comprehension paper has also expanded my understanding of the requirements of international qualifications. I am also an examiner for EDEXCEL iGCSE English Language and Literature and have extensive experience of supporting international students studying in the UK and abroad.
I am fully committed to ensuring that every student succeeds on their own terms and have a strong belief in the centrality of English to the education system. I am passionate about the teaching of English Language and Literature to all levels and would welcome the opportunity to support students in their study of this subject.
