About Sumayah
Although I am a private teacher I understand that my students are my teachers too. I've had students from various backgrounds, goals, ages, professions. One thing they all had in common was the willingness to learn how to fail. I may be classically trained by the 1st principal violinist of Honduras National Orchestra, or Dr Edwards of Peabody Conservatory and the BSO but that only refined my understanding that perfection is only possible when you allow yourself to let it go, or even better, allow yourself to embrace every wrong note, misinterpretation or sharp note as a part of what makes the imperfect perfect. We're here to create and share music, what could be more perfect than that?

My goal with every student is to earn their trust and dust off any inner dialogue that is getting in-between them and their creative expression, regardless if their goal is to play at Carnegie Hall or at a local talent show. I'm not here to get paid just tell you you're flat or sharp, I'm here to teach you to remember what you love, even if it's not your instrument. That takes a rare type of vision, skill, communication and dedication that I ensure will inspire you and refine your craft in a way that enhances your life!
