About Hugo
I have 10+ years of experience as a Piano tutor and teach school students, college students, and working professionals. I am committed to helping learners develop their piano skills through structured lessons and a friendly teaching approach.
I believe learning becomes easier when students feel understood. I first learn about their current piano level, goals, musical interests, learning style, practice routine, and areas where they need support. I then adjust the lessons to match their individual requirements.
My lessons cover piano fundamentals, posture, hand position, finger coordination, scales, chords, rhythm, music theory, note reading, sight-reading, ear training, song learning, improvisation, and performance skills.
I use simple English, demonstrations, practical exercises, and familiar songs to explain musical concepts. I encourage students to practice during lessons and apply new ideas immediately.
My teaching philosophy is based on patience, communication, flexibility, understanding, and positive motivation. I encourage learners to ask questions and discuss their difficulties openly. I believe mistakes should be treated as learning opportunities.
I also teach students how to practice with purpose. I help them create practice schedules, set short-term goals, break difficult pieces into manageable parts, and review their progress.
A notable achievement in my 10+-year teaching career is gaining experience with students from school, college, and professional backgrounds. This has helped me develop a strong ability to adapt lessons to different learners.
My goal is to help every student become a confident, creative, disciplined, and independent piano player. Whether you are learning for fun, improving your skills, or preparing for a performance, I provide personalized guidance based on your goals.

My piano teaching methodology focuses on Adaptation to Learning Styles, Flexibility, Collaboration, and Positivity. I believe students learn more effectively when they can apply musical concepts directly through practical piano activities.
I begin by understanding the student's current ability, musical background, interests, and goals. Beginners learn posture, hand position, finger movement, notes, rhythm, scales, chords, and simple songs. Experienced students can work on sight-reading, advanced technique, musical expression, interpretation, and performance.
I use demonstrations, written examples, listening activities, repetition, and guided piano practice. I connect music theory with practical playing so students understand how notes, chords, rhythm, and musical patterns work together.
Flexibility allows me to adjust the pace of lessons based on individual progress. I can provide additional practice for difficult topics or introduce new challenges when students are ready.
Collaboration is an important part of my teaching. I encourage students to participate in selecting suitable songs, setting learning goals, discussing challenges, and reviewing progress.
I use positivity to help students remain motivated when they face difficulties. I encourage them to learn from mistakes and celebrate small achievements.
Along with piano, I can teach music theory, keyboard skills, rhythm, chords, sight-reading, ear training, basic composition, and music appreciation. My goal is to make every lesson practical, engaging, and useful.
