About Amy
I am an aspiring researcher, I hope one day to work in a lab studying genetics or immunology, or possibly even toxicology!
I love to be organised and can always be found with a colour coordinated schedule!
I adore my family and my dog and love to spend as much time with them as possible.
I work as a swim teacher, and I teach babies from 3 months old, all the way to kids aged 10. It can be hard to switch from singing songs to practicing butterfly but I like the challenge! At this job I have taught many kids that needed a different style of teaching, so I have learnt how to be flexible in my teaching method, adapting it to cater for each students needs whilst still focusing on the goal.

As a student who personally struggled with maths, I have developed many techniques to tackle the more challenging concepts, as well as tricks to remember the basic concepts involved in maths.
Science (in particular biology and chemistry) are my strong suits, and I would love the opportunity to show others how amazing science can be.
As a swim teacher and tutor I have taught many different students, all of whom learn differently. I am able to aid visual learners (diagrams), as well as practical learners (physical demonstrations/analogies), auditory learners (explanations), and ‘practice makes perfect’ learners (range of practice questions. I also have had the opportunity to work with children on the spectrum and/or with ADHD, so I understand how they learn and the best ways to impart knowledge.

Amy is an excellent tutor who has an incredibly engaging manner. She has great skill at being able to adapt her teaching styles to the learning need of our daughter, being able to explain the subject matter in different ways until it is understood. She has tutored our daughter for approximately 6 months and greatly improved our daughters confidence and ability in maths. Our daughter looks forward to the weekly tutoring sessions with Amy and always comes away feeling that she has a much better understanding of the subject they have studied.
