About Seerat
I am a dedicated and patient tutor who is committed to helping students genuinely understand Math rather than simply memorize steps. As a third-year Software Engineering student with a strong academic foundation in mathematics, I bring both subject expertise and clear communication skills to every lesson. My experience mentoring students at university has helped me develop a calm, supportive teaching style that makes challenging concepts feel approachable. I take my role as a tutor seriously and always come prepared, organized, and focused on each student’s individual goals. Whether a student needs help building confidence, improving grades, or aiming for Merit or Excellence, I structure our lessons to ensure steady progress and meaningful understanding. Students can expect guidance that is encouraging, professional, and tailored to how they learn best. I am committed to creating a positive learning environment where students feel respected, supported, and motivated to succeed. My goal is to help every student finish each session feeling more confident than when they started.

I focus on creating a supportive, confidence-building learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and working through challenges at their own pace. My teaching style combines clear explanations, step-by-step walkthroughs, and plenty of practice problems to help students truly understand the “why” behind each concept. I adapt my lessons to each student’s learning style—whether they prefer visual examples, worked solutions, or guided practice.
A typical lesson is one hour, which gives enough time to review previous work, introduce new ideas, and reinforce learning with exercises. I encourage students to bring their schoolwork, past papers, or specific topics they are struggling with so we can focus directly on what will help them improve fastest.
I’m a third-year Software Engineering student with a strong academic background in Maths, and I have experience mentoring and supporting students through my involvement in university clubs. I’ve helped students build confidence, strengthen foundational skills, and develop effective study habits that improve their performance long-term.
My lessons are ideal for NCEA Maths students at all levels, from those wanting extra support to those aiming for Merit or Excellence. Whether you’re catching up, keeping up, or trying to get ahead, I tailor each session to meet your goals and help you feel more confident in the subject.
