About Andrew
My name is Andrew Xiao, and I’m a rising sophomore at the University of Texas at Austin. As a more recent high school graduate, I hold a lot of experience and familiarity in subjects like debate, government, and history.
Having scored 5's on courses such as AP World History, US History, Government, and Macroeconomics, I know firsthand the most recent College Board exam structures and frequently tested subjects. Beyond curriculum review and topic lectures, you can expect access to all the study guides, resources, and exam reviews that helped me to excel during my time in high school.

I enjoy teaching through a discussion-based format where students can interact more closely with the subject material at hand.
I make an effort to mold class structure to the student's need, playing to individual strengths to enhance the learning experience. This typically looks like a mix of assigned reading, interactive online assignments, and discussion sessions where students are free to ask questions on course material.
My greatest asset as a tutor comes from a clear focus on communication. As a former Texas state champion in speech and debate, I'm familiar with public speaking and analytical discussions to help better understand topics. Beyond that, I have an extensive teaching background as a debate tutor and coach at the University of Houston.
My lessons are applicable to students from middle school to high school humanities.
