About Hatton
What I bring is recency and reliability. I am currently in the same math and physics sequence my students are working through, so the material is fresh and I know how these courses are actually tested, not just how the concepts are presented. I also run two small businesses of my own, so showing up on time and communicating clearly are habits, not promises.
Outside of tutoring I build reservoir engineering and data analysis tools in Python, which is where I learned that explaining something clearly is the real test of whether you understand it. That is the standard I hold myself to in a lesson.
I am direct with students. If something is wrong, I will say so and then show you how to fix it.

My approach is straightforward. We start with a problem you are struggling with, and I walk through my reasoning out loud so you see how someone decides which method to use, not just the steps. Then you work a similar problem while I watch and correct the thinking in real time. Most students do not have a math problem, they have a setup problem, and that is what we fix.
Lessons are online over video with a shared whiteboard, so screen sharing your homework or an exam review sheet works well. I can help with weekly homework support, targeted exam prep, or catching up after falling behind.
