About Jon
I am an award-winning screenwriter who has written a number of shows for the Edinburgh Fringe, as well as radio plays for BBC. I have written four novels, four novellas, five full-length plays, a travelogue, magazine articles, screenplays, poetry and songs. I have also written illustrated songbooks for pre-school children.

For thirty years I've taught in schools and universities. Writing is my passion so sessions are fun and light-hearted. My aim is to help you find your own writing style, to help you tell the stories you want to tell and assist those who want to write but don't know what to write about or where to start. Curiosity is at the heart of what I do. I invite learners to ask questions of themselves, their characters and the world in which both exist. Each week learners will write something and then with support, will learn the value of editing and improving one's own work. I teach children from the age of 6 upward, through to adult learners. I have a master's degree, a degree and a teaching qualification. Lessons are typically 50-55 minutes.
