About Ayanna
Hi, I'm Ayanna Nesbeth a full-time reading and math intervention teacher with experience working with students from kindergarten all the way through 8th grade.
I graduated from Florida State University with a degree in Interdisciplinary Social Sciences, with a focus on Environmental Science. That background shapes the way I teach.
I became a tutor because I know firsthand how much the right support can change a child's relationship with learning. Too many kids sit in classrooms feeling behind and ashamed and that's something I take personally. My goal is to find the root of the problem, build confidence, and make hard work feel worth it.
Outside of tutoring, I'm still in the classroom every day as an intervention specialist, which means I stay sharp, up to date, and genuinely passionate about this work.

I don't just teach to the problem I find the root of it. Every student struggles differently, and my job is to figure out exactly where things went wrong and build from there.
No shame, no pressure. My sessions are a safe space where kids feel encouraged to try hard, make mistakes, and grow. Hard work is always celebrated here.
How my sessions work:
• I lead the majority of each session so students stay engaged and supported throughout
• Students leave with 1-2 hands-on assignments I personally email to the parent or guardian
• Math students will be assigned practice problems to build knowledge and confidence
