About Nora
Hi there! I'm Nora, and I'm currently studying Political Science and International Relations, two fields that are deeply focused on essay writing. As a result, I have developed strong skills in critical thinking, analysis, conceptualization, and, of course, essay writing. In fact, I was honoured to be placed on the Dean's Academic List in 2023 for my academic achievements.
I’m an avid reader with a particular passion for analyzing texts—something I excelled at during my school years. Since NCEA English is heavily focused on text analysis, I’m confident that I can help you develop these skills and achieve success in your studies. Understanding the key themes, concepts, and stylistic techniques in texts is crucial in NCEA English. I focus on helping students analyze these elements in both fictional and nonfiction texts. This includes developing skills like identifying themes, symbolism, character development, and rhetorical strategies.
I offer lessons lasting 60 to 90 minutes, an ideal length to maintain focus and allow for in-depth discussion without fatigue.
As a student who has excelled in my own studies, I have a solid understanding of how to navigate the NCEA curriculum. I also have experience helping others prepare for and achieve high marks in English-related subjects.
I am adept at breaking down complex English texts and explaining them in simple terms, helping students build both their writing and analytical skills. I also provide specific guidance on structuring essays and responses, particularly for the NCEA Achievement Standards.
My lessons are aimed at year 9, 10, and NCEA Level 1, 2, and 3 students, with a particular focus on students preparing for assessments or exams. I can assist with both internal assessments.
