About Megan
My background includes 20 years of professional full-time nannying, which fosters a strong skill set in being a highly patient and non-judgmental teacher. I have experience teaching English to large classrooms of students in China for a six-week summer camp program, where I became TEFL certified. Prior to this, I graduated from Sam Houston State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a minor in psychology. I also have experience as a trained cognitive skills trainer. My lessons can be tailored for all levels, though I presently do not specialize in specific business-focused vocabulary.

I first like to assess my student’s current skill level versus their goal level, and desired focal points for any specific applications (conversational English, business/professional, writing, etc.). Then, I tailor lesson plans based on those skills and goals, in addition to frequency of classes. A typical lesson plan for a beginner may include learning basic vocabulary alongside flash cards, learning introductory sentence structures, and pronunciation training.
