About Betty
Discipline in music stems from a solid understanding of how the instrument functions mechanically. It takes 209 students to realize that every player requires a distinct path toward their specific goals in acoustic technique.
We spend time ensuring your fingerpicking patterns are fluid while we also integrate music theory into your daily practice routine. My approach is to strip away the unnecessary noise so you can focus entirely on the quality of your sound. Intermediate learners often hit plateaus, but we move past those by refining your songwriting and your maintenance habits. Whether you are a working professional or an adult seeking a new challenge, we will create a roadmap that respects your time.
The structure of our work will remain consistent so you know exactly what to expect when you arrive. Does your current practice routine give you the clarity you need to keep growing as a guitarist?

I sometimes struggle to keep my own practice sessions brief because I enjoy playing guitar so thoroughly. My teaching character is rooted in the 6 years I spent performing folk and classical music across Canada. This background allows me to share insights on acoustic technique and fingerpicking with working professionals who need a structured approach.
I hold a Bachelor of Music from Humber College and am a certified RCM Grade 10 player. These qualifications help me guide adults through complex songwriting and music theory concepts. Tuning and maintenance are essential habits that I emphasize to every student I meet. Having taught 209 students, I have learned that the best sessions occur when we balance hard work with genuine curiosity.
I find it most enjoyable to watch an intermediate learner finally connect the theory to the fretboard in a way that feels natural. My 6 years of teaching have taught me that clear communication is the most effective tool in any room.
