About Nora
It’s nice to meet you! My name is Nora Moher. Ever since I read The Hunger Games in fifth grade I have been passionate about writing. Linguistics and expressing yourself correctly is a crucial skill, and it does not need to be daunting. I am an older sister of two and a babysitter for three years so working with people younger than me is not uncharted territory. I would love to learn what you have struggled with and figure out with you as a team what we can do to solve this. This can be using your favorite books or movies, my personal past essays, by using a whiteboard and mapping it out together, and more. My credentials are my grades in high school English classes. My tenth grade mark was 99%, eleventh grade it was 92%, and twelfth grade it was 94%. I have consistently proven to have a strong grasp on the English language and hope to help you reach that as well!!

My teaching techniques include hands-on approaches with varying perspectives, allowing the students to find something that works for them. I will use my own essays as well as personal worksheets I have prepared regarding sub-arguments, structure, and academic writing. A typical lesson plan would begin with observing the student’s work and demands of their teacher to see what the focus is. Afterward, I would ask them to write one worksheet on this topic for me. After spotting the problem areas, we would redo it step by step together and I would use their own personal favorite texts to show them in a more digestible way what a proper text would look like. I have worksheets visually demonstrating essay structure that would be used. These lessons are for high school students, specifically ranging from tenth to twelfth grade.
