About Arie
Hello, my name is Arie!
Fun fact about me: after I graduated from Uni I lived in a converted minivan/rv and travelled across the United States.
I studied Journalism and Film in Ottawa, which was a six hour drive from my hometown. School was exciting- in Journalism we were running around always producing stories. In Film, I spent hours in a dark lecture hall, watching cinematic feats short and long from a global array of eras.
I was in my third-year when the COVID-19 lockdowns began. As a journalism student we continued producing stories, venturing into new mediums to reach publication. While the experience was trying, through it I learned keen analytical and storytelling skills.
I’ve tutored in the past, both while I was in high school and University. I haven’t recently asked my former pupils about my teaching, but I’m sure they’d give me a 10/10 :D

I studied Journalism and Film at Carleton University in Ottawa. Currently, I’m studying for my masters.
I teach A.P English, film, media analysis, and storytelling (both factually and creatively) to help you with English studies through to post-secondary education.
In lessons we’ll discuss the medium you’ve chosen to study. Together and separately, we’ll create responses with the subject allowing us to understand it deeper. We’ll ask questions such as ‘why does that make me feel this way? What was the purpose of its conception?’.
I like to be interactive with my students and the focus. This means both ‘studying’ studying and playing quizzical games to study.
