A TUTORING PROGRAMME THAT EFFECTIVELY CONNECTS THE INTEGRATED CURRICULUM AND THE ASSESSMENT POLICY: Remedying Educational Injuries Sustained Through Failure To Link The Two and Inadequate Training
Over the past two months, I've been gathering information from all manner of sources, doing a lot of intensive reading and taking classes as a way to develop my expertise in Tutoring as a teacher role. I did this with the following clearly kept in view:
- The in depth understanding of The Integrated Curriculum and The Assessment Policy
-Strategies to mitigate educational injuries resulting from ineffective implementation of The Integrated Curriculum
-Developing skills for building English language proficiency in secondary schools
- LGCSE and IGCSE(UK) English assessment objectives and exam needs.
Due to insufficient pre service and in service training as a way to prepare teachers for the implementation of The Integrated Curriculum, many students are not receiving the quality of education intended through the innovation. This has led to some serious educational deficits where for instance, we have students who still have difficulties in reading and/ writing skills in Grade 5 or higher. My research has also identified lagging English language proficiency in secondary schools, especially in the final year of high school.
With my in depth knowledge of the following curricula;
The Integrated Primary Curriculum, English syllabus in secondary education, LGCSE and IGCSE (UK), this tutoring programme intends to remedy the existing issues outlined above, through customised individual lessons that go beyond the textbook and help students gain a deeper understanding of the material. These lessons will be facilitated through learner centred approaches for effective delivery. My expertise in the LGCSE and IGCSE(UK) curricula will be deployed in a methodological approach where emphasis will be on preparing and training students for appropriateness in exams.This will boost the pass rate.
