About Clare
I am certified in ballet pedagogy by the Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Moscow. I specialize in teaching ballet to late-entry and struggling students, as well as adult beginners and children starting out in ballet. I utilize my own method (BalletPrep), a comprehensive system designed to help students learn efficiently, develop strong technical foundations, and overcome obstacles in their training.
This method is informed by my 8 years of study under a pedagogue specialized in Vaganova technique applied to students with non-traditional physical profiles who get overlooked in conventional ballet training, as well as my studies with the Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Moscow, where I am trained as a teacher.
I am also a licensed clinical hypnotherapist, having completed my studies with the Palo Alto School of Hypnotherapy in California. This background helps me integrate work on mind–body connection, somatic awareness, and the psychological mechanisms that support technical learning, as well as help students with psychological and subconscious blocks applied to their performance.
I have found this integrated approach enables students to progress more efficiently than through traditional methods alone.

This lesson is structured as a personalized coaching session, fully tailored to the student’s individual needs. In the first session, I conduct a thorough assessment of the student’s strengths, limitations, and goals to ensure we focus on the most relevant areas, rather than following a generic training approach.
Common areas I address include turnout, foot strength and flexibility, and overall strength and mobility as applied to ballet technique. These are approached holistically, working from the root cause rather than isolated symptoms.
In ballet, incorrect execution often leads to the development and wrong muscles while the correct ones remain undertrained. My approach focuses on building proper technique from the foundation, while giving students a clear understanding of how their bodies should function. This allows them to train more effectively and continue improving beyond the lesson itself.
These sessions are designed to complement regular ballet training. I provide targeted exercises and resources so students can continue developing independently and reinforce their progress outside of lessons.
