About Benjamin

I obtained my bac S mention Très Bien at the Marcelin Berthelot high school in Saint Maur (over 18 average). Passionate about biology, I then spent a first year of Medicine (PACES) before realizing that what interests me the most are veterinary studies. I managed to get into the BCPST prep class in Lakanal. I am currently there in the second year where I am preparing for the Agro-véto competition. I have been giving private lessons in science and English since I was in college and teaching is a passion that I hope will one day become my profession.

My teaching method adapts to the needs of the students and works in two stages: 1) Learning the course over the long term, 2) its restitution in an organized manner and according to the modalities of the exercises or tests to be prepared. 1) Learning your course is the basis of all work, but there are more or less effective ways of doing it. Each pupil uses different types of memories (visual, sound, didactic, etc.) and must therefore adapt their learning methods accordingly (for example by making flash cards, functional diagrams, the exercise of the blank sheet, etc.) ). To master it over time, it is then necessary to appeal to long-term memory which is worked according to the curve of forgetting. The latter implies a program of revisions more or less spaced in time depending on the degree of mastery of each chapter. Thus these revisions are to be prioritized to increase the time / results yield. 2) The restitution of knowledge must be done in a precise manner and must meet the expectations of the correctors and the scales imposed. Listening to students and understanding their difficulty is essential. The main thing is to "understand what the student does not understand", in order to find the learning method that suits him. My role is to avoid passive learning where you absorb your course. It is also necessary to set up active learning where one must call on one's knowledge to learn how to answer a question or analyze a document.
