About Sophia
Hi! My name is Sophia, and I have been playing piano since I was seven years old. Music has been a meaningful part of my life, and I enjoy helping others discover that same passion. I currently teach beginner piano students in person and am excited to expand my lessons online to reach more aspiring musicians.
As a college student pursuing my Associate of Science in Nursing, I value patience, encouragement, and individualized learning. My goal is to create a positive, supportive environment where students feel confident, motivated, and excited to learn. I believe every student learns differently, so I tailor each lesson to their age, learning style, and personal goals while helping them build a strong musical foundation.

My lessons are designed for beginner students, from children ages 5 through middle school, who are ready to develop a lifelong love of music. I primarily teach using the Faber Piano Adventures curriculum, one of the most trusted and engaging piano methods for beginners. Before lessons begin, I will recommend the appropriate books based on each student's age, experience level, and learning goals.
Each lesson is personalized to help students build a strong musical foundation while making learning enjoyable and rewarding. Lessons focus on:
Reading sheet music
Rhythm and counting
Proper hand position and technique
Music theory fundamentals
Building confidence through fun, engaging songs
Developing consistent practice habits
I communicate with parents to understand each student's goals and learning style so lessons are tailored to their individual needs. My teaching approach is patient, encouraging, and designed to help students gain confidence while progressing at a pace that is both comfortable and challenging.
My goal is for every student to enjoy learning piano while developing the skills and confidence to continue growing as a musician for years to come.

I offer personalized online piano lessons for $40 per hour or $20 for a 30-minute lesson, providing flexible options to fit your schedule and learning goals. To help new students get started with confidence, I offer a complimentary 30-minute first lesson so we can get to know one another, discuss your musical goals, and ensure we're a great fit before continuing. My online lesson rate is discounted compared to my in-person lessons since no travel is required. Every lesson is tailored to the student's age, experience level, and learning style, with a focus on building confidence, strong musical fundamentals, and a lifelong love of music. Whether you're just beginning your piano journey or looking to strengthen your skills, I strive to create a patient, encouraging, and enjoyable learning environment where every student can succeed.
