About Paul
While I graduated from Cornell Law School, I believe that my future lies in inspiring others through mentoring. Many of my law school coursework (Contracts and Securities Regulations) and internships at law firms have involved number-crunching. These experiences have honed my ability to visualize and communicate mathematical problems.
In addition, I've worked as a private tutor for over seven years, and have covered a number of mathematical subjects, including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and more.

Surprise: Every person learns differently, and not everyone knows how they learn best! As such, I focus on establishing a comfortable zone for gifted learners to best utilize and hone in on their innate talents. My goal is not just to impart knowledge, but also to improve a student's confidence, and their relationship with learning.
My short-term lesson plans may involve examining homework or other classwork, and preparing material for areas where improvement is needed. While I do not "grade" students, I do challenge and assess their capabilities in a constructive and collaborative manner, and adapt my lessons accordingly. This approach is crucial in math classes; while there may be a "correct answer," there's never one correct way to get there!
My long-term goal is to identify a student's patterns and successes in order to: 1) provide the most fine-tuned assistance possible (including custom musical mnemonics) ; and 2) show students their previous track record, demonstrating that success comes from within.
I firmly believe that every person has an inherent brilliance within them; one that they may just need help to unleash. In my time working with middle school to collegiate-level students, I believe that my approach works best for building a future based in this understanding.
