About Laura
Laura grew up in a classroom environment. Her mom was a third grade teacher for years until deciding to teach special education. Laura began tutoring early in high school and immediately loved working with students. After her time at UC Berkeley, Laura decided to teach elementary students. Her research-driven (and fun) approach to learning led to all of her students improving their reading and math skills by at least 40% throughout each school year. Laura can't wait to meet you!

Laura was a classroom teacher for 5 years in elementary school. Prior to that, she spent a year student teaching, a year a substitute and 8 years as a tutor. Laura specializes in early childhood literacy through high school English classes (her Bachelor's from UC Berkeley is in English!). Her passion for having fun during lessons, data-informed teaching practices and warm nature make her a great fit for your student.
