About Chan
Hi! I’m Chan, a Computer Science student at UC Berkeley with a strong background in mathematics, programming, and problem solving. I’ve been passionate about these subjects for years, from reaching the USACO Platinum Division in competitive programming to earning gold medals at international science competitions. I’ve also gained real-world software engineering experience through internships, including at Qualcomm. I genuinely enjoy helping others understand subjects that I’m passionate about, and I hope to make math and computer science feel approachable, interesting, and rewarding for every student I work with.

My lessons are personalized to each student’s experience, learning style, and goals. I have a strong foundation in both mathematics and computer science, and I’m confident teaching concepts ranging from foundational math to calculus, programming, algorithms, and problem solving. In high school, I was involved in multiple academic honor societies, where I regularly tutored fellow students with a wide range of abilities and learning styles. I also served as president of my competitive programming club, where I taught peers USACO algorithms and problem-solving strategies. These experiences taught me to be patient and adaptable—if one explanation doesn’t click, I’ll approach the concept from a different angle until it does. My goal is not just to help students get the right answer, but to build the understanding and confidence to solve similar problems independently.
