About Robert Kenneth
I have always enjoyed helping students succeed in math--from my experience as a TA when I was in high school, to when I was tutoring student athletes in statistics while I was attending the University of California, Berkeley. I always viewed math as something akin to solving a puzzle--making the process of doing math homework to be a lot more fun. I learned how to teach math from my mom, who made her career as a high school math teacher for over 20 years. Prior to becoming a teacher, she volunteered as a TA in my elementary school class, and I got to see firsthand how she used positive reinforcement to help students gain confidence in their ability to do math, raising homework and test scores across the board. I will apply those same principles in my sessions, and ensure that the student is in the best possible position to succeed.

I know math can be a stressful subject for many, so I try to make it as fun as possible, utilizing real world concepts and examples that are more relatable to the student's interest. The vast majority of my tutoring experience comes in the form of assisting with homework, or preparing for an upcoming test.
I communicate with the student, reviewing material and going through practice examples, to make sure that the student actually understands the subject material and the process well. I make sure the student does their homework or practice set correctly, providing help when they are stuck, but encouraging them to solve the problem--all while keeping a positive and fun atmosphere.
Primary subjects include elementary, middle school, and high school math.
