About Caroline
Currently, I am a freshman at UC Berkeley, and languages have always been a major passion of mine! In eighth grade, my school offered one Spanish course. I had no idea what the journey that lay ahead of me would look like, but I was intrigued that I could learn to communicate in another language. Right now, you might be in that same position, too, and you are just beginning to navigate the skill of learning a new language. I will tell you that with patience, diligence, and the confidence to make mistakes and learn, you will come to truly enjoy the beauty of knowing another language.
Now, 5+ years later, Spanish, and Romance languages in general, have become a major part of my life and something I love investing my time into. Currently, I am taking a Romance Languages and Linguistics course at Berkeley, and I am planning on enrolling in an upper level Spanish literature course next semester. I will be able to apply the knowledge I am currently gaining to further assist you (my student) on your pathway to success!

As your Spanish tutor, I will adopt a method where you (the student) are given the opportunity to think critically about the language. Then, I will guide you through the process of how to apply that knowledge in different scenarios whether it be through reading, writing, listening, or speaking.
With 5+ years of experience in Spanish, I also received a 5 on the AP Spanish Language and Culture exam, meaning I have a wide breadth of knowledge ranging from verb conjugations to dissecting Spanish literary texts. Not to mention, as a non-native speaker, I learned the language the same way my students would be learning it: through middle school and high school. This allows me to draw from my previous experiences to better assist the students in the learning process.
Lessons are for those in all levels of Spanish (Elementary Spanish to AP Spanish Language and Culture) with a variety of needs whether it be grammar, vocabulary, speaking, or all across the board!
