About Bevan
I have been playing piano for 10 years now and currently under the tutelage of Dr. Karl Lutchmayer. My own journey as a lifelong learner — studying under various teachers, completing teacher training programs and participating in masterclasses— has shaped my understanding of how music can be taught with clarity, purpose, and inspiration. I have been an accompanist for many music students appearing for their grade exams (violinist, cellist) I'm currently part of a duo (guitar and piano), introducing rare but interesting works of music which have never been played in India before.

I believe in a systematic approach to teaching, grounded in logic, pattern recognition, and strong foundations in music theory. Theory isn’t just academic — it’s the key to making music sound good and to understanding it on a deeper level. What I Teach - 1. Technique - this covers the physical aspects of playing the piano, from posture to the use of the fingers, arms, and the entire body as a whole. 2. Interpretation - music isn't just about playing the right notes at the right time, it means something and it's our job as musicians to interpret it and convey it (this is one of the most important things I learned from my professor). 3. Theory - Music theory helps in making good interpretations and musical choices. I will be teaching theory simultaneously. 4. Curriculum - I generally follow method books and study pieces for absolute beginners with a lot of focus on scales and exercises but repertoire will be tailored according to the student's level. 5. Examinations - I do train students for Trinity College of London, ABRSM examination boards. But I do not teach exclusively examination syllabus and it is up to me to decide whether a student is ready for an exam. 6. Collaborations - students might be given an opportunity to collaborate with each other for duets and other ensemble-related activities. This entirely depends on students' interest and availability. What's expected of the student - 1. An almost religious practice routine. 2. Being on time for class 3. Listening to music 4. Patience - a lot of it 5. Maintain a practice journal - to track your progress Class 1. In-person one-on-one lesson- I teach at my home on an Essex Grand piano, the student can experience the touch and the gorgeous sound of a REAL PIANO. Lessons are strictly one-on-one basis so you get personalized attention. 2. Online lessons. - Students must have access to an instrument and good internet connectivity and preferably 2 cameras for a better view. 3. Duration - 45-50 min.

Sir is a talented pianist, enthusiastic, kind and patient teacher and a treasure trove of History, Music and Literature.
As a student I am very fortunate to learn from him.Bevan’s pedagogy systematically breaks down musical skill acquisition, rejecting the myth of innate talent. He treats critical abilities like sight-reading, musicality, and technique as measurable skills developed through a deliberate, evidence-based curriculum. Unlike traditional methods, Bevan aligns his instruction with modern cognitive and neurophysiological principles, emphasizing that excellent technique is a consequence of fluent reading and musical comprehension, not isolated, repetitive drills. His focus on measured progress and targeted remediation (even for those who believe they are "tone-deaf") ensures that every student builds foundational fluency and can acquire high-level musical capability.
