About YuQi
I am finishing up my Master in Human Genetics in McGill. I first studies at the University of Fraser Valley and then I transferred to UVic and had a B.Sc honour in biochemistry in 2019. In my undergraduate, I was able to perform competitively in my biology and chemistry courses. I have helped some students to improve their grades and performance in Biology and Chemistry courses. I also volunteer with a national organization in introducing younger kids with ages ranging from 5-16 scientific knowledge and inspire them into science so I also have experience working with kids. In my free time, I enjoy playing guitar and watching manga. For the certificate, I cannot find my graduation certificate currently, and I am waiting for UVic to mail me another one. Thus, I uploaded the transcript that I had for UFV and UVic. At the end of the transcript, it should have degree completion written down.

1. Before the lesson, I normally ask for what are the expectation that prospective students, such as improving grades for a certain course, improving understanding of a certain concept, or just for general knowledge.
2. Then I will decide what plan to use. For improving grades for a certain class, I normally will ask for lecture slides (if allowed) and the title of the textbook that the instructor/teacher uses to better help students understand what is the focus and what are the critical points he/she should understand. Then I will explain the detail of the important points and make out a quiz for students to practice the concepts. For concept learning, I will go through the concept itself with the student but I will focus more on which part of the concept is being confusing and try to illustrate it.
3. I was a biology and chemistry tutor for university students, and my major is in biochemistry.
