I've been a high school biology and biotechnology teacher for 15 years in traditional and non-traditional settings. My passion and enthusiasm for the subject of biology has never waned.
In a previous career, I was a microbiology and biotechnologist for 8 years.

My teaching style focuses on embedding my lessons in a real-world context to foster student engagement. One major goal is to develop my students' critical thinking skills. I create a positive learning atmosphere to reduce student anxiety. I utilize a wide variety of assessments and emphasize revision of student work.
