About Roosevelt
My goal is to help you as a student to not only memorize information, but to fully understand and retain it. Many traditional classroom methods fail to help students understand their subjects in a way that corresponds to later study, leaving them behind in future classes. I believe that I can help you to find something about the subject that personally relates to you so that you are able to achieve success in your class as well as build on the subject later on. I have helped many of my fellow students throughout my school career to better themselves in our classes, while discovering new learning tools that helped me to achieve high grades throughout my degrees. I feel confident that I can help you to find the best tools for you to do the same.

Every student has a unique way of understanding. As a tutor, my goal is to help you discover your optimal learning style and work at a pace that ensures you have full understanding of a subject.
I have many techniques that I have personally used in my classes, including simple exercises such as traditional flash cards and mnemonic devices as well as unique organizational plans I have made that help to not only memorize information, but to understand how it relates and why it is important.
My lesson plans begin by hearing from the student all of the information that they already know about the subject and some study techniques that they have found useful in the past, both in this subject and others. Knowing likes such as music, cooking, sports, etc. can help to find a way to associate information in the subject to more interesting categories to the student.
I am well versed in biology, especially botany, marine biology, anatomy, and microbiology. I also have experience in physics and organic chemistry. I am comfortable tutoring anyone from any age range at any level of education from 1st grade up to a bachelors degree.
