About Talia
I have 8 years of experience teaching biology to students ranging from high school to undergraduate preparation. I hold a B.Sc in Life Sciences and an M.Sc in Ecology, which provides expertise in cellular, organismal, and environmental biology. This foundation enables me to deliver lessons that are rigorous, engaging, and accessible to learners of all levels.
My teaching approach emphasises active learning, conceptual understanding, and practical application. I integrate experiments, visual aids, and guided problem-solving to help students understand challenging concepts while developing confidence and analytical skills. Lessons are designed to foster curiosity and independent thinking.
Outside teaching, I engage with ongoing research, ecological studies, and laboratory work, integrating current developments into my lessons. Seeing students progress from uncertainty to confident understanding is deeply rewarding. Supporting learners to achieve academic success while cultivating a genuine interest in the living world is a central motivation in my work.

Biology becomes compelling when students can see the links between cells, organisms, and the ecosystems they inhabit. My lessons cover molecular biology, physiology, ecology, genetics, evolution, and organismal biology. I emphasise conceptual clarity, using interactive experiments, case studies, and visual models to make complex concepts accessible and engaging. Lessons foster critical thinking, analytical reasoning, and curiosity while encouraging students to explore ideas at their own pace in a supportive environment.
Lesson plans are tailored to each learner’s level. Beginners explore basic cell structure, DNA fundamentals, physiological systems, and introductory ecology. Intermediate learners delve into genetics, metabolic pathways, and ecosystem interactions. Advanced learners engage with molecular mechanisms, population biology, experimental design, and data interpretation. Every session includes guided exercises, discussions, and examples to reinforce understanding and build confidence.
Beyond factual knowledge, biology lessons strengthen reasoning, observational skills, and the ability to connect theory with real-world applications.
