About Nathan
I have several years of interactive educational experience, especially in ecology, evolution, zoology, and entomology. I have led visiting student groups on hikes and hands-on ecology classes in Costa Rica, and worked at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences as an outreach specialist.

I prefer to teach interactively, presenting the material as a dialogue with the student(s), instead of simply lecturing them and giving the answers. I ask them questions to get them engaged with the material, and gently redirect them if they give an incorrect answer. If I'm teaching a group, I make sure each student has a chance to contribute. When solving a problem, I break it down into parts, and let the students take turns working through the steps.
