About Hasini
Hi! I’m Hasini, and I’m a very friendly, approachable and enthusiastic tutor who genuinely enjoys helping students learn and grow in confidence. I want my lessons to feel like a comfortable and positive environment where students feel happy to ask questions, make mistakes and try again without feeling embarrassed or pressured.
Having recently completed my own studies, I understand how difficult exams can sometimes feel. I know that everyone learns differently, so I take the time to get to know each student and find an approach that works best for them. I’m patient, encouraging and always happy to explain something in a different way if it doesn’t make sense the first time.
Academically, I achieved three A grades at A-level, alongside strong GCSE results including grades 9, 8 and 7. I have developed lots of my own revision techniques, exam tactics and useful shortcuts, which I love sharing with students to help them feel more confident and work towards their goals.
I also have experience tutoring Maths and English, including supporting students preparing for the 11+. Whether you want to improve your understanding, build confidence, prepare for an important exam or aim for the highest grades possible, I’ll be there to support and encourage you every step of the way.
I’m also very excited to be starting university soon, and I’m looking forward to continuing my own learning while helping other students with theirs. I hope to be someone my students feel comfortable learning with and talking to, while helping them develop the skills, confidence and independence they need to succeed.
Most importantly, I want my students to enjoy learning and believe in their own abilities.

My Approach to Tutoring
I take a friendly, patient and student-centred approach to tutoring. I first identify the student’s current level, strengths and areas for improvement, then adapt my teaching to suit their individual needs.
I have developed my own tactics, shortcuts and exam techniques throughout my studies, and I enjoy sharing these with students to help them work more efficiently and confidently. Rather than simply teaching students how to get an answer, I aim to show them how to recognise patterns, choose the right method and approach questions strategically, particularly in exams.
For students working towards GCSEs or other exams, I place a strong emphasis on past paper and exam-style questions. We work through questions together, breaking down how to identify what the question is asking, which method to use and where marks are gained. I help students recognise common question patterns, so that when they encounter a similar style of question in an exam, they can quickly understand how to tackle it rather than feeling overwhelmed by unfamiliar wording.
I use clear explanations, worked examples, questioning, guided practice and regular feedback. I encourage students to explain their reasoning so I can identify misconceptions and help them become more independent learners.
Experience
I also have experience tutoring Maths and English, in Kumon and explore learning, including supporting students preparing for 11+ examinations by holding online quizzes. This has helped me develop a patient and encouraging teaching style, while learning how to adapt my explanations and pace to suit different students.
Lessons
A typical lesson is 1 hour, although this can be adapted depending on the student’s age, level and requirements.
My lessons can be tailored to primary, 11+, GCSE and A levels, depending on the student’s goals. Whether a student needs help understanding the basics, building confidence, preparing for an exam or pushing towards the highest grades, I adapt the pace and teaching methods to suit them
