About Carolina
I'm Carolina, a Brazilian Communications student at St. Francis College in New York City, studying on a scholarship I earned through sheer determination. I reached C2 English proficiency completely on my own, learning through the things I loved, and that journey is exactly what drives the way I teach today.
Beyond tutoring, I'm the founder of GetAbroad (concealed information) a social impact organization that helps Brazilian students access international education opportunities. In 2026, we're running a mentorship program with over 10 mentors and 50 mentees. Helping people grow and open new doors is not just what I do, it's who I am.
I've mentored 30+ students across different levels and backgrounds, and I bring that same dedication, warmth, and genuine care to every single lesson.

My approach starts with you :)
In our first lesson, I run a quick assessment and an interest form so I can understand your level and what you're actually passionate about. From there, I shape lessons around things that genuinely excite you — whether that's travel, music, pop culture, or whatever makes you come alive. Learning sticks when it's fun, and I really believe that.
I also track our progress with simple metrics throughout our sessions, so we can both see how far you've come. No guessing, just real growth.
A little about me: I'm Brazilian and reached full C2 English proficiency entirely on my own, by learning through the things I loved. That journey earned me a scholarship to study Political Science and Communications in the US, where I now live and write every single day. I know firsthand what it takes to go from zero to fluent, and how to make the ride actually enjoyable.
My lessons are for everyone — beginners finding their footing, intermediate learners hitting a wall, or advanced students looking to sharpen their writing and lose their accent. If you want to learn English in a way that fits your life, we're going to get along great!
