Hi! My name is Wendy, and I am a student at a specialized high school in New York City with a strong passion for education and helping younger students succeed. Throughout my academic journey, I have developed strong skills in Mathematics, Reading, Science, and Social Studies, and I enjoy sharing that knowledge with others in a way that is both engaging and easy to understand.

About the lesson

As a student at a specialized high school in New York City, I understand both the academic challenges students face and the skills needed to succeed. My goal as a tutor is to create a supportive, engaging, and personalized learning environment where students build confidence while strengthening their academic abilities.

My teaching approach focuses on patience, encouragement, and active learning. Rather than simply giving answers, I guide students through problems step-by-step, helping them develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills they can apply independently. I adapt my teaching methods to each student's learning style, whether they learn best through visual examples, hands-on practice, discussion, or repetition.

A typical lesson begins with a brief review of previous material to reinforce understanding and identify any areas that need extra support. We then work on new concepts through guided instruction, interactive examples, and practice questions. Throughout the lesson, I encourage students to ask questions and explain their thinking.
