About Zakiya
Qualified Science teacher (QTS) with school and tutoring experience across KS3/KS4 and A-Level Chemistry, including strong SEN experience.
I care deeply about the students I work with. I take time to understand their strengths, worries and learning habits so I can support them in a way that feels personal and effective. Whether a student needs help building confidence, mastering difficult topics or improving exam technique, I’m fully invested in their progress and celebrate every step forward with them.

I tailor every lesson to the student, using clear explanations, steady practice and lots of support with application-of-science questions, key vocab, exam-style problems and 6-mark answers. Scaffolding and breaking down tricky content is genuinely my superpower — I love helping students understand things they once found overwhelming. I have a BSc in Chemistry, a PGCE and QTS, plus school teaching experience and six years of tutoring, including SEN support. Lessons are usually 60 minutes, and I always adjust the pace and approach to suit each learner. I teach KS3 and KS4 Physics, Biology and Chemistry, as well as A-Level Chemistry, supporting students aged 11–18 who want calm, clear and effective help to make real progress
