About Sophia
Hello! I'm Sophia, a recent BSc graduate of Neuroscience from the University of Bristol. I've been tutoring on and off alongside my studies since 2022, with ages ranging from 10-18, and through doing so have developed an adaptive and catered approach to lessons. I truly love tutoring, and believe that students enjoying learning is key to their success in achieving academic goals. Therefore, my teaching approach is centred on maintaining a positive relationship with content engagement and finding outside-the-box ways to help students, using my own recent experience with the academic system.

Typically offering 1-2h online sessions, for Biology years 9-13 (GCSE/A-level). My teaching methodology is adaptive to student needs, and focuses on not only improving content application and comprehension, but also empowering students with confidence in their own skills and developing internal frameworks to handle complex problems and pursue their own education. I have first-hand experience of how daunting some of these exams can be, and through my years of tutoring, and personal academic experience, have developed tools to turn complex content into manageable, fun lesson plans, catered to individual needs.

I can't recommend Sophia enough as a tutor. She's helped me with my English and Maths, has fantastic knowledge of the subjects, and she's great at explaining the parts I struggled with. Sophia was motivating, patient, and friendly in the way she coached me to achieve my goals.
I have been in Sophia’s biology classes over the past couple years and she understands the content very well and has always been ready to help other students. Whenever I haven’t understood something she’s really helped it make sense to me, I would definitely recommend her as a tutor.
