About Alyssa

My name is Alyssa, and I am a junior in college majoring in psychology. I am also preparing to pursue a career in education and become an English teacher. During high school, I completed four years in the Teacher Academy of Maryland, where I gained experience with lesson planning, classroom management, child development, and different teaching strategies.

I have worked with children of various ages and completed an internship in a second-grade classroom. These experiences helped me learn how to communicate clearly, remain patient, and adapt lessons to meet each student’s needs.

My tutoring style is supportive, interactive, and hands-on. I use PowerPoint presentations, visuals, guided practice, discussions, and creative activities to make lessons easier to understand and remember. My psychology studies also help me understand how students think, learn, and build confidence.

I strive to create a positive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and improving at their own pace. My goal is to help every student become a stronger and more confident reader, writer, and learner.

About the lesson

My name is Alyssa, and I am a junior in college preparing to become an English teacher. I use hands-on activities, PowerPoint presentations, guided practice, and open discussion to make lessons clear, engaging, and easier to remember. I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable, supported, and connected to their tutor.

A typical lesson begins with a short review and a conversation about the student’s goals. I then explain the topic using examples and visuals before guiding the student through an activity. Depending on the lesson, we may practice reading comprehension, grammar, essay writing, creative writing, or journaling. I end each session by reviewing what we learned and answering any remaining questions.

What sets me apart is my ability to connect with children of different ages and learning styles. I completed the Teacher Academy of Maryland, have worked with children across multiple age groups, and completed an internship working with second-grade students. I am patient, creative, encouraging, and committed to helping students become more confident readers and writers.

My lessons are designed for elementary, middle, and high school students who need support with English, reading, writing, grammar, essays, creative writing, or journaling. I adjust each lesson to fit the student’s age, skill level, goals, and preferred way of learning.
