About Laura
I have always been fascinated by people, stories, languages and different cultures. Perhaps that is why my professional life has taken me from journalism and filmmaking to teaching English — different worlds, but all connected by one thing: communication.
I am a CELTA-qualified English teacher, but I am also someone who has learned several languages and knows from experience that speaking a new language can sometimes feel intimidating. I want my students to feel comfortable enough to make mistakes, laugh, ask questions and simply give it a try.
My lessons are friendly and relaxed, but always have a purpose. I love real conversations and I enjoy discovering what makes each student interesting — their work, travels, ideas, experiences and plans. I then build the learning around them rather than expecting them to fit into a rigid method.
For me, teaching English isn’t only about getting the grammar right. It’s about reaching that wonderful moment when you realise you’re no longer translating every sentence in your head — you’re simply communicating.
And helping someone get there is the part of teaching I love most.

My sessions are interactive, student-centred, and adapted to each learner’s goals, level and interests. English is all about context, therefore I combine conversation, vocabulary, pronunciation and grammar using authentic materials and real-life situations.
Lessons usually last 60 minutes.
My background in Journalism and filmmaking also allows me to bring creativity, storytelling and a strong focus on communication into my sessions. I am a CELTA-qualified English teacher with 3+ years experience teaching General English to students of different ages and levels, from beginners to advanced., including Business english, exam preparation, English for travel, work and everyday life.
