About Clara
Hello, and let me give you a full introduction to my musical background! I have been teaching the incredible gift of the guitar and ukulele for 7 fantastic years, and my absolute favorite students in the world are those who need a little extra encouragement to begin their musical journey. I hold a Master of Music degree from the Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor's from UCLA, and I have dedicated my entire teaching career to proving that anyone can play strings when provided with a positive learning environment. I completely understand that pressing down on guitar strings can feel a bit sore at first—I wanted to quit when I first tried!—which is exactly why I guide students using my personal learning experiences to build confidence and discipline. I operate as a Best Friendly Tutor; my approach is incredibly polite, motivational, and deeply supportive, ensuring we celebrate every single clear note you strum. My dedication to confidence building helped me win the "Outstanding Early String Mentorship" award in my state. Teaching through online one-to-one live lessons allows me to connect with you right where you feel safest, and I will enthusiastically give you the most basic, easy-to-understand explanations for every single finger placement!

Picking up a stringed instrument for the first time should fill you with excitement, which is why my one-to-one online live guitar lessons are designed entirely around pure encouragement and a positive learning environment! I warmly welcome K-12 kids, high schoolers, college freshmen, and absolute beginners into my highly supportive digital classroom. By using an extreme beginner, zero-level starting approach with very easy explanations, I ensure you never feel overwhelmed. As an interactive tutor turning complex questions into simple, easy-to-understand concepts, we will gently explore the soft tones of the Acoustic Guitar, the amplified fun of the Electric guitar, and the wonderfully easy, tiny nylon strings of the ukulele. As your confidence blooms, we can seamlessly look into the smooth chords of Jazz guitar, the soulful bends of Blues guitar, the classic strumming of Rock guitar, and even the high-energy, fast-paced riffs of metal guitar! I design lessons based on student requirements for better understanding and results. I will teach you in the way that you understand best, making learning simple and effective. Feel free to share your topic before class, and I will design the lesson specially for you! I also know you have a busy schedule, so flexible timing is available for students to schedule lessons according to their convenience.
