About Warren
Originally from the UK, I have worked in marketing, sales and English teaching for more than twenty years in Greater China, North America and the UK. Starting out as an English teacher in Taiwan, I studied Mandarin and then went to work for global tech companies like HTC as a marketer. While working in marketing, I continued to teach Business English to private individuals and classes. I do so not only because I loved teaching but because I wanted to help - working with people whose first language wasn't English, I got to see how grammar, punctuation and vocabulary, could influence communication and lead to cultural misunderstanding and missed sales. I taught students, engineers, sales, project managers and marketers, among others. I was trusted by many businesses with a large part of my clients coming from word of mouth. My experience of working as a marketer meant I could empathise with and quickly identify where communication could be improved, maximising the gains for my students who were usually very busy. My first love is teaching so moving forward, I want to focus on this area, and contribute to helping improve Business English for non-native speakers everywhere in the world. No matter if you need to close a deal with an English-speaking client or better communicate with your foreign employer, I can help you achieve your goals.

I specialise in teaching Business English. My more than 20 years' experience working in business and teaching in the UK and across Greater China enable me to provide additional context and insight to my teaching. For example, when helping students, I can do more than just correct their business English but provide advice and direction on the right way to do and say things to help with their sales or internal communication. Expertise that can only come with having worked globally for a range of technology businesses, studying not just how to do business well but the business culture across North America, Europe and Asia, among others. I have helped: Students from all across the world, including Asia, Africa and South America. Experienced professionals looking for ways to better communicate with their global head office, suppliers and customers. Students of business, needing to get help with assignments. As a speaker of advanced Mandarin, I can help learners of any level of English in the Greater China area. Or if they feel more comfortable with some communication in Mandarin. Teaching Style Classes are always personalised to the unique requirements of each student. We discuss what they need and I provide a plan that will get them to their desired level. Happy to meet all international time zones for online classes.
