About Mary
My name is Bukola and I am based in Nigeria. I am a professional English communicator, customer support specialist and English tutor with real, hands-on experience working remotely for a US-based travel company. Every day I write professional emails, handle customer conversations, resolve complex issues and represent an international business, all in fluent, professional English. That is not just a qualification. That is lived experience, and it is exactly what makes my lessons different.
I discovered my passion for teaching English through my own journey of building confidence in professional communication. I know what it feels like to want to express yourself clearly and powerfully in English, and I know the exact steps it takes to get there. That personal understanding makes me a patient, encouraging and highly effective tutor.
I have taught English through platforms including Preply, where I worked with students from different backgrounds, levels and goals. I understand that every learner is different, which is why I never use a one-size-fits-all approach. I listen first, then I teach.
Outside of tutoring and customer support, I am someone who genuinely loves communication, whether that is helping a student nail their first job interview in English, coaching a professional to write more confidently, or simply helping someone find their voice in a language that once felt intimidating.
