About Hira
I'm 32 years old, based in London, and a proud cat parent. My love for maths began in school and has continued into my professional life, where I use it regularly in my full-time role. I’m passionate about helping students discover their potential and build confidence in a subject that many find challenging. I believe maths is a vital life skill, one that opens doors in education, careers, and everyday decision-making. With a calm and structured approach, I aim to make learning both empowering and enjoyable. Lesson Structure & Flexibility My lessons typically run for 1 hour, but I’m happy to adjust the duration based on individual needs or preferences. Target Audience I primarily work with high school students, especially those preparing for their GCSE qualifications. Teaching Approach Each session begins with a 5–10 minute recap of the previous lesson to reinforce understanding and retention. If any concepts need revisiting, I take time to re-explain and clarify before moving forward. I focus on delivering clear, theory-based instruction, supported by real-life examples to make abstract concepts more relatable. This is followed by practical application, where students work through examples to solidify their understanding. We conclude with a short exercise session (5–10 minutes) to assess comprehension and encourage independent problem-solving.
