About Hayley

Calculus remains a logical puzzle that requires a patient guide to dismantle its complex rules. Honestly, I find that many students stumble not because they lack ability, but because they have never seen how a function behaves in motion before calculating its slope. During my 4 years of teaching and private tutoring since graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, I have helped many students move past mental blocks regarding the chain rule or implicit differentiation.

I treat every graph as a visual map to solve these problems. My classroom background allows me to pinpoint exactly where the theory meets the page. When we look at Taylor series or the applications of derivatives, I emphasize the movement behind the math rather than just the rote memorization of formulas.

This method ensures that the heavy lifting of problem-solving strategies becomes intuitive. My students often walk away seeing the clear logic behind the symbols, which is exactly where I hope they land.

About the lesson

Pacing matters more than speed, so we adjust the tempo until the underlying concepts truly click for you. You might find that I spend significant time on the visual behavior of integrals before we move to the algebraic crunching.

This ensures you have a firm grasp of the fundamental mechanics of derivatives. I integrate your weekly problem sets into our time so that you receive targeted feedback on your work while it is still fresh. Having refined my methods over 4 years of classroom and 1 to 1 instruction, I know how to turn difficult topics into manageable sequences. We will spend 7 sessions or more if needed to make sure your confidence in the material is unshakable.

I expect you to bring your questions to our meetings so we can tackle the hard parts together. This structure allows us to build a solid foundation. You deserve to walk into your next exam knowing exactly how to approach any problem I put in front of you.
