About Sophie
As a tutor, my goal is to inspire confidence and create a supportive, engaging learning environment where students feel empowered to succeed. With a strong academic background – a Double First in Natural Sciences, a PhD in Neuroscience, and now a final-year Medical Student at the University of Cambridge – I’m passionate about helping students achieve their potential, whether that’s mastering GCSE and A-level Biology, Chemistry, and Maths or excelling in Oxbridge Medicine applications. I bring an approachable and encouraging style to teaching, aiming to make even complex concepts clear and manageable while building long-term skills in critical thinking and problem-solving. Outside of academics, I’m a friendly and energetic person who enjoys running, cycling, and exploring the outdoors. I believe in balance: academic growth goes hand in hand with well-being, and I encourage my students to pursue both.

Hi, I’m Sophie – a final-year Medical Student at the University of Cambridge. I also hold a Double First-Class degree in Natural Sciences and a PhD in Neuroscience, both from Cambridge. With over eight years of experience at Cambridge, I have an in-depth understanding of the Oxbridge Medicine application process. I specialise in: Personal statement support – helping you stand out with clear, focused, and authentic applications. Interview preparation – including mock interviews with tailored question packs based on real Cambridge material, designed to test critical thinking and scientific reasoning. Application mentoring – guidance on how to demonstrate academic ability, curiosity, and suitability for Medicine. Alongside application support, I also tutor GCSE and A-level Biology, Chemistry, and Maths, and have supervised Cambridge undergraduates in Neuroscience and Pathology. My teaching approach is highly personalised: I adapt to each student’s strengths, encourage active problem-solving, and build both confidence and depth of understanding. Lesson format: Sessions typically last 1–2 hours and are flexible depending on your needs. I ensure students leave each lesson with a clear grasp of the content, using targeted explanations and practice until concepts feel secure.
