About Joel
I'm an 18-year-old STEM student currently sitting A Levels in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry, with predicted grades of 4 A*s. I also hold an offer to study Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge.
I achieved 11 GCSEs at grades 8–9, including grade 9s in Maths, English Language, Chemistry, Biology and Physics.
I offer online GCSE tutoring in Maths, Chemistry and Physics, as well as A Level Maths. My teaching focuses on clear explanations and exam technique, with an emphasis on understanding how to approach exam questions effectively.
Having recently completed my GCSEs, I have a strong understanding of question styles, mark schemes, and how to maximise marks in exams, allowing me to help students improve their performance efficiently.
Sessions are available from 21st June, with flexible lesson lengths. My standard rate is £30/hour, with a discounted block of 10 hours available for £250. All sessions are delivered online, via Zoom.

My lessons are structured and focused on exam performance. I begin by identifying the topic or question type the student wants support with, then break it down step-by-step before moving onto exam-style questions.
I place a strong emphasis on exam technique, including how to structure answers, interpret mark schemes, and understand what examiners are looking for. Being able to consistently apply knowledge across a variety of questions is key to achieving top grades, and is a particular focus of my teaching.
Lessons are interactive and tailored to each individual's learning style. Students are encouraged to first attempt problems independently, which I then follow up with guidance and corrections where needed. I use exam-style questions and quick reviews of previous content frequently to build fluency and confidence.
Having recently taken A Levels and GCSEs, I am familiar with common problem areas and am able to explain them clearly and efficiently.
All sessions are delivered online via Zoom using an interactive whiteboard.
