About Barbara
I am a native English speaker with over ten years experience teaching and tutoring individuals and small groups in English, French, and German. I am also a Cambridge University certified ESL instructor (CELTA). I have experience teaching all levels (A1 - C1).
I have a dual bachelors in French and German studies along with a dual Masters in International Relations/International Communications. Like my students, I too have been the one learning to communicate and thrive in a foreign language. I draw on my experiences studying and working languages other than my mother tongue when developing lessons and supporting my students.

My lessons are fun and dynamic using real world language and materials. I strive to create a safe space for students to experiment and grow with their language skills while gaining confidence and exposure to real world English.
Typically in a first lesson I will assess your level, ability, needs, and expectations. From this I will structure our lesson topics, with plenty of opportunities to practise and develop reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
