About Laurie
I am a Cambridge graduate with a degree in Human, Social and Political Science- I currently work in archaeology. I have tutored my peers throughout my school and university years. While I can equip you with the core course content of humanities and social science papers, I will also give you the revision and essay writing skills you need for independent study which will be useful throughout your academic career. These skills are what got me to the end of a Cambridge degree, so they will work for you!

I can teach History, English literature and language, and social and political science up to A level standard. I can also tutor archaeology up to degree level.
Both in a group and individual setting, I will begin by ensuring that my students have a good understanding of the basics of their subjects. I will show them how to produce their own short guides, which cover the key points necessary for each module.
We will move on to discuss essay questions, towards the end of the course, we will plan practice essays together, building on the basic study guides by adding A* knowledge and critical approaches.
If I feel the student needs a strong study skills focus, this will take priority in lessons. I will show them how to plan their time effectively for independent study, and teach them the memorisation and revision skills that I used from my GCSEs to the end of my Cambridge degree.
