About Scott
I am a current History PhD student at the University of Cambridge with previous first-class MPhil and BA degrees. My specific research interests include African and Indian Ocean History, as well as World History and Transnational History more broadly. I have a general love for History as a subject due to how it helps us contextualise and understand the world around us. My approach to both writing and teaching is to make the subject matter both engaging and easily understood for learners of all levels.

I focus on helping students understand historical concepts and processes, with an aim to develop their ability to use that understanding to write clear and persuasive arguments within their essays, whether those be in an exam or coursework format. As a current PhD candidate in History, I have a strong background in writing and am able to help students improve their own writing skills and develop effective revision techniques. Over the course of several 1-2 hour sessions I seek to develop students' critical thinking and analytical skills to not only help them excel in their current courses, but also give them the framework they need to succeed in higher education.
