About Emma

Hi! My name is Emma, and I’m a recent high school graduate. I’m a patient, friendly, and hardworking person who enjoys helping others understand things they may be struggling with. Throughout high school, I learned the importance of staying consistent, asking questions, and not being afraid to ask for help.

Because I recently went through high school myself, I understand how confusing or frustrating schoolwork can sometimes feel. I want to make learning easier and more comfortable for my students by explaining things in a simple way and working at their own pace. My goal is to help students not only improve academically, but also feel more confident in themselves and their abilities.

About the lesson

I have graduated high school and have spent many hours in standard classes, which has given me a strong understanding of the importance of patience, practice, and finding the right way to learn. I have also spent time helping classmates and others understand schoolwork when they were struggling with a topic.

My teaching method and techniques:
I like to explain things in a simple, step-by-step way. I make sure the student understands the basics before moving on to more difficult material. I also encourage questions and use examples and practice problems to make sure the student feels comfortable with the topic.

A typical lesson plan:
I start by asking the student what they are having trouble with and reviewing the material together. Then, I explain the topic, work through examples, and give the student practice problems to complete with my help. Toward the end, we review what they learned and go over anything they are still unsure about.

What sets me apart as a tutor:
Since I recently graduated high school, I understand what it is like to be a student and struggle with certain subjects. I am patient, approachable, and willing to explain something in different ways until it makes sense. I want students to feel comfortable asking questions and confident in their ability to learn.

Who my lessons are for:
My lessons are for elementary and middle students who need extra help with their classes, homework, studying, or understanding specific topics. I am especially happy to work with students who need someone patient and relatable to help them build their understanding and confidence.
